Left: AirPort Wireless Base Station, which communicates with a Lucent WaveLan wireless PCMCIA card in my PowerBook or in a Windows PC notebook, and with $99 AirPort cards on newer Macintosh models. Right Top: XSense Cable/DSL Router and 4-port 10/100 Ethernet Switch. This allows me to use either high-speed Ethernet or wireless 802.11 (via the Airport Base Station) for shared Internet access and File & Printer Sharing with multiple computers, both Macintosh and Windows PC.
